Advertising Cool Guy

Isn’t it scary how you hear about advertising campaigns and their illustrious attempts to reach what they call a “target market”? There are many campaigns out there to get YOU! Yeah, you!
One who’s who of advertising stuck out to me. His name is Donald Tennant.
Mr. Tennant passed away in 2001 but not before creating some trademark advertising campaigns.
First, there was Tony the Tiger, mascot for Frosted Flakes. Tony the Tiger was branded to reach a young audience, advertising sugar cereal. Then, there was the Jolly Green Giant. He represents Green Giant vegetables.  The Keebler Elves, Pillsbury Doughboy and the Marlboro Man are all a part of his creation as well.
All of the above mentioned product mascots, except the Marlboro Man, are on a list of the Top 10 of advertising icons of the 20th century. And without seeing their pictures, you already conjured up their image in your mind.
Talk about a legacy. This man’s creation is no doubt in your cupboards at this very moment. The purpose for Mr. Tennant, and all advertising tycoons, is this; a consumer has a need, and my purpose is to link that consumer's need to my product.
God is the solution! He created someone so that God's solution met you. And He created you, so that someone else's need meets God's solution too!
